Instead, he traveled to his uncle's Colorado ranch and spent days studying the habits and expressions of the animals. His paintings are both whimsical and realistic, capturing the unique character of each subject, from Paulie the Pig to Rollie the Rooster. This nostalgic tribute to rural life is one of his most popular series of collector plates.
